About Hannah
Hannah Roditi has been quilting for over 30 years. She has painted and sold silk scarves and wearables since 1996. She has trained across the country with some of the most recognized quilting and silk painting artists in the country. In recent years Ms. Roditi uses only hand-dyed and painted fabrics she has prepared herself, using a range of techniques including Japanese Shibori resist dyeing. Her designs, particularly in recent silk velvet quilts, is most influenced by Joan Miró. Other painters that influence her quilt and scarf designs as well as fabric surface design and use of color include Paul Klee and Kandinsky. The contemporary quilter that has most influenced her work is Nancy Crow, particularly in the use of saturated color and the adoption of free form cutting of fabric that makes little use of straight lines.
